Great Fishing on The South Fork and Snake!

Both the South Fork and Snake rivers have fished very well lately. Good hatches of PMD's have had most of the fish looking up. Cloudy days have been best, but fishing on sunny days has been equally good at times. We should see some of the best hopper fishing of the season over the next couple weeks, and don't forget about ants and beetles as well especially on warm sunny days. In the Jackson area, the Gros Ventre and Hoback have fished very well, and cooler nights have made for improved fishing on both The Green River and Flat Creek. September is right around the corner but there is still a lot of great fishing ahead of us, so get out and enjoy it while you can!

Hoppper Season is Here

Hoppers are Here, fish are looking for them, and we're excited about it. Hopper fishing is almost like a second salmonfly hatch - big foam dry flies bringing up big, hungry fish. Splat them, twitch them dead drift them, just figure out what's making the fish tick on that particular day and you are in for some big fun. PMD's are still hatching on most of the riffles on the South Fork. Size down your leaders/tippets and bring a variety of patterns to imitate the different life-cycle stages. and prepare to change flies early and often. We should see good hopper fishing through August as hatches dwindle and fish turn to terrestrials as their main source of food. Enjoy this fishing while you can, fall is just around the corner...
